On this family the drivetrain is the risk to verify, not the incidental system it usually is.

Check — Treat the engine as the primary thing to verify, not an afterthought: confirm every open engine recall is closed for the specific VIN, ask whether the engine was ever replaced and whether knock-sensor software is installed, check current warranty coverage, and judge by a cold-start listen and an oil-consumption check rather than by the badge.
