Removable roof panel adhesive separation (recalls 06V181000, 09V491000): on 2005-2007 Corvettes with a removable roof and 2006-2007 Z06s, the adhesive between the roof panel and the frame may separate. A partial separation shows as a snapping noise over bumps, wind noise, poor panel fit, panel movement/bounce when a door or hatch is closed, or a water leak in the headliner; a complete separation can let the panel detach from a moving vehicle and strike a following car. The remedy is a new-design roof panel installed free of charge.

Check — Confirm the recall repair (new-design panel) is closed by VIN. On any removable-roof car, listen for snapping/wind noise, check panel fit, and look for headliner water staining.

LS7 valve guide wear (2006-2013 Corvette Z06/427, 7.0L RPO LS7): valve guide wear on the LS7 is a known owner concern serious enough that GM issued Service Bulletin 13-06-01-001 about it. The checkable symptom is excessive valvetrain (ticking) noise; left unaddressed, wear can progress to valve or cylinder-head damage and an expensive rebuild. GM's bulletin characterizes its paid valve/head warranty claims as low, so treat this as a targeted inspection item rather than a certainty.

Check — On a fully warmed engine, compare valvetrain noise against a known-good LS7. On a serious candidate, have a Corvette specialist check valve guide clearance (leak-down and inspection). Note that aftermarket tuning or engine modifications accelerate guide wear and void GM powertrain coverage.
